Dr. Jack O'Byrne

Jack joined the Camden County Historical Society –Camden, NJ in 2015, as the Executive Director, a part-time management position reporting to the Board of Trustees, responsible for all aspects for administration, finance, and capital projects. He took the helm of an organization which was founded in 1899 and was on the brink of financial and physical ruin. Transformed the Society into a state-wide model for partnerships on a county-wide and neighborhood basis while renovating and expanding the buildings and grounds to encourage multiple streams of revenue (see accomplishments above for details). Jack has extensive historic preservation experience; he managed the restoration of six historic buildings. Raised over $3 million for the restoration of the Benjamin Cooper House (1734) with plans for re-use as the American Revolution Museum of Southern New Jersey.

Jack is currently the Chief Executive Officer, Your Grants Office, LLC, Haddon Township, NJ. As head of a part-time nonprofit management and grant writing consultancy in Southern New Jersey, he has managed the Camden Shipyard & Maritime Museum since April 2015. Other clients have included Camden Community Development Association, the John F. Peto Studio Museum (Island Heights, NJ), Philadelphia Yearly Meeting - Society of Friends (Phila., PA), Good Shepard Mediation Services (Phila., PA), and the Nicholas Virgilio Haiku Writers House (Camden, NJ).
