Delia Ford Brown

Delia was born in Camden,

Living in the Centerville section until she married. She was educated in the Camden School System and proudly graduated from Camden High School in 1960. She matriculated at Glassboro State College and became a teacher. After being an Elementary Teacher in another school district, she came home to Camden. For more than twenty-nine years, Delia devoted herself to educating the children in Camden. This was done in the capacity of Teacher of Reading; Supervisor of Reading; and Director of Curriculum & Instruction.

Delia retired from Camden in 2005. Eighteen years later, she remains committed to the children of Camden. She comes back to the District every school year to volunteer and to mentor students. Delia was on the committee for the new Camden High School, serving as Chairman of the Culture & History Committee. Upon completion of the new Camden High School Campus, she was invited to speak at the “Ribbon Cutting”.

Delia is no stranger to serving, she is past president and active alumni of the South Jersey (NJ) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.

Delia was the proud wife of the late Arthur K. Brown and is the Mother of three daughters and three grandchildren.
